Bruce Willis: The Die Hard Star
It was very disheartening to learn that Bruce Willis is
diagnosed with Dementia. Due to his health conditions his family members have
announced his retirement from acting career. For those who don’t know what is
dementia, it is a sort of mental illness in which the thinking power and memory
of a person is lost. Due to it the normal behaviour is also affected. Bruce is
suffering from a type of dementia called as Frontotemporal dementia (FTD). It
makes one difficult to communicate properly and remain well organised and
planned person.
Bruce Willis was born on 19th March 1955 in West

Germany. His family came back to United States of America in 1957. He became
household name with the serial viz. Moonlighting which was aired on ABC
television network in United States between 1985 to 1989. In 1988 Bruce got the
major breakthrough in Hollywood film world with ‘Die Hard’. It became
commercially very successful Hollywood film. It would not be an exaggeration, if
we say that ‘Die Hard’ gave a new and fresh Action Hero to Hollywood and of
course to the entire world.
He has given iconic films such as ‘The Fifth Element’, ‘Armageddon’,
‘The Sixth Sense’, ‘Unbreakable’, etc. In ‘Die Hard’ series four more films
were released and these are- ‘Die Hard 2’, ‘Die Hard with a Vengeance’, ‘Live
Free or Die Hard’ and ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’.
As far as ‘The Sixth Sense’ is concerned it has some Indian
connection. This supernatural thriller was directed by M. Night Shyamalan, America
director of Indian origin. Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan aka M. Night Shyamalan was
born in 1970 in Mahe, Pondicherry. His parents migrated to United States.
Bruce Willis acted with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold
Schwarzenegger, the other two famous Action Stars from Hollywood , in a film
titled ‘The Expendables 2’. The screenplay of this film was written by
Sylvester Stallone along with Richard Wenk.
He was married to Demi Moore between 1987 to 2000. He has three
daughters with Demi Moore. Their names are- Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Taullulah

Moore. Emma and Bruce are parents to two daughters.
It is good that family members of Bruce Willis are creating
awareness about FTD by sharing his health conditions frequently. Let us pray
for good health of this handsome looking iconic Hollywood Superstar.
The Moonlighting serial and other movies of Bruce Willis will
continue to entertain his fans and movie lovers perennially.
