Indeed, it is a mystery thriller but most importantly it is an out-and-out emotional drama. Director Dinjith Ayyathan has marvellously depicted an emotional bond between a father and son. Asif Ali one of the amazing actors from Malayalam film industry has played the character of a son whose father is suffering from a disease of memory loss. The role of a father is wonderfully portrayed by Vijayaraghavan. The name of the characters of Asif Ali and Vijayaraghavan are Ajayan and Appu Pillai respectively.

The film revolves around the theme of missing gun of Appu Pllai. Pillai family resides near the boundary of a forest. The search for the missing gun begins with police also actively involved in it. In the beginning we feel that the story is going to be quite normal and predictable. But, as the movie progresses one starts getting the subtle shocks and Goosebumps. It shows how a father in spite of suffering from a memory loss tries to take care of his son’s mistake. Appu Pillai always tries to keep the secret related to Chachu, son of Ajayan concealed. For this he keeps on writing and destroying notes time and again. At the end of the film one realises why he was doing so.

Overall, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is a complete movie. In all areas like acting, direction, music, cinematography and editing it is simply impeccable. Every movie lover will definitely enjoy it thoroughly. ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is available on Disney+Hotstar.
